Righteous Food
From time to time we will spotlight local producers, distributors, merchants, and consultants that share the vision and purpose of BrenhamFirst. Regional self-sufficiency starts with food self-sufficiency, so we’ll start with Brad Stufflebeam and HOMEsweetFARM.
Farmer Brad has been an organic horticulturist for twenty years, and since 2004 has been farming in Washington County, operating a CSA farm (“CSA” stands for “Community Supported Agriculture”) that serves local consumers and the Greater Houston and Bryan/College Station markets. CSA members pay a flat monthly fee for a weekly share of assorted produce fresh from the farm. In addition, “work shares” are available, and volunteer workers and anyone interested in learning more about farming can work with Farmer Brad one morning a week and take home a share.

Hello world!
So it begins: First a working title, then a domain name, then, like the first green shoot of a germinated seed poking up through the soil, a new website pops up into cyberspace. All the promise of every new life. All the uncertainty of a toddler learning to walk. All the fears of a thousand ways this thing could go wrong. But hope—HOPE!—that there is still enough time to do what needs to be done.
We’re up! We’re here! Time to get busy…
